SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN TRADEMARK FEES IN RUSSIA

By Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1459 dated September 23, 2025, amendments have been approved to the Regulation on Fees.

The new rules comes into effect on October 4, 2025.

The new fee calculation procedure applies to both registration and renewal of trademarks.

Under the new rules, the amount of the official fee will depend not only on the number of classes of the Nice Classification indicated in the application, but also on the number of individual goods and/or services specified within each class.

HOW TO CALCULATE THE FEE UNDER THE NEW RULES

Fee for examination of the applied designation:

• 13,000 RUR (~ 165 USD); +
• 2,500 RUR (~ 32 USD) for each class of the Nice Classification in the application over 1; +
• 500 RUR (~ 7 USD) for each item of goods and/or services within one class over 10.

Fee for renewal of a trademark registration:

• 22,000 RUR (~ 275 USD);+
• 2,000 RUR (~ 27 USD) for each class of the Nice Classification over 5; +
• 500 RUR (~ 7 USD) for each item of goods and/or services within one class over 10.
